Feeling Restless?

There is so much big planetary activity happening in the sky this year that few of us can feel unaffected by all the goings on. Even if you don’t know much about astrology, you might be aware that there is big line-up of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius this year that is giving us all a big boost of optimism and opportunities for healing on an individual as well as planet-wide scale- but also on the downside, tendencies to see things through rose-tinted spectacles from time to time.

There is also an opposition between Saturn and Uranus that’s exact again this week. This plays out within ourselves as well as externally in the world, as an intense ‘discussion’ between tradition with its stabilising but crystallised view and progress with all its exciting prospects laced with rebellion and change for change’s sake.

Astrology is not a belief system but a cosmic map, so looking at planetary cycles and configurations helped the Ancients figure out all sorts of things from the weather to business and political patterns. Based on the Hermetic principle of ‘As above, so below’ astrology can help us too to understand ourselves better by observing how key planetary energies work or conflict with one another.

So with the amount of planetary activity going on, we are collectively going through massive changes: some of us are being affected more on an external level and some more on a personal inner level.

As Chiron, one of the planets associated with healing is involved, this seems to be a time when we need to be more flexible, tolerant and objectively minded than ever before.

We may be experiencing a range of restless feelings that are kind of indefinable except for the common theme of everything being up in the air, unsettled or in the process of change.

It’s exciting but can be unnerving for folk in traditionally stable positions or who just don’t enjoy things changing much. For mavericks and those who love diversity and change, it could be heaven….. July of next year should see things settling down a bit more but for now it’s best to try not to make plans that are hard and fast as they will probably need to change again at some point.
